What does Unused Media Cleaner do?
The plugin scans your entire WordPress website to detect which media files (images, videos, PDFs, etc.) are not being used anywhere in your content, themes, or plugins. It then allows you to safely delete or export those unused files.

What is the Media Inspector?
The Media Inspector lets you see exactly where each media file is used — including the post/page title, type of usage (e.g., featured image, ACF field, background CSS), and direct links to edit the content.

Can I export media before deleting?
Yes! We include an Export Before Deleting feature that lets you download selected unused files as a ZIP. It’s a safety net you’ll appreciate before performing bulk deletions.
Is it safe to use on large sites?
Yes. The plugin supports pagination, chunked scanning, and even WP-CLI integration — allowing you to run scans and cleanups directly from the command line, perfect for developers and sysadmins.
Does the plugin support WP-CLI?
✅ Yes! You can run media scans and cleanup operations using WP-CLI commands, making it ideal for automated workflows or managing large enterprise-level websites.
Can I restore deleted media?
If you choose "Move to Trash", you can restore media from the WordPress media trash. However, permanent deletion is irreversible — which is why we recommend using the Export feature first.
Can I export media before delete?
Yes, in each scan page you can select the images to export them before deleting.
